how are you, really?

a poster reads "how are you really" on the side of a building

to my writers, creatives, admirers, youngins, oldies, students, entrepreneurs, and human beings,

how do you answer the question “how are you?”

i’m sure it’s “good”, “okay”, “great”, “fine”, or some other response that will keep the conversation rolling. but what about the real answer? the Truth?

every time you share even a small lie like this, it’s a punch to the body. a dismissal to the mind. a negation of your real feelings. you have to work on believing that your emotions are significant enough to share with others. but if you don’t, how do you expect people to handle you? how do you expect people to move with precaution? how do you expect people to respect your words as bonds of Truth? you can’t.

so join me and stop lying. to your friends, to your family, to yourself. the more honest we become with ourselves, the more honest we can be with others. the Truth that you define for yourself is all that you can stand on. so take matters into your own hands by making it known how you feel and who you are. moment by moment. day by day.

real healing is acknowledging where you are while keeping your mind firm on where you plan to go. that’s what i like to call #patchwork.

peace, peace.
